Catholic Climate Action Projects

Healing Our Common Home

CathCAP is a project of Catholic Climate Covenant, cosponsored by the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests.

Inspired by the Laudato si' Action Platform

CathCAP is a project of Catholic Climate Covenant, co-sponsored by the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests.

Catholic Climate Action Projects, or CathCAP, is a way for individuals and groups to offset some of their carbon footprint. Schools, universities, and parishes can create an account, encourage members to contribute, and use the accumulating funds for an eco-project of their choosing which fits the CathCAP guidelines inspired by Laudato si’.

In November 2021, the Vatican launched the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, a multifaceted sustainability initiative for the global Church calling on families, parishes, dioceses, educational and healthcare institutions, religious orders, farms and businesses, and other organizations to operationalize the teachings of Laudato Si’. Your group may have already enrolled; if so, CathCAP is a seamless opportunity for your organization to fulfill your Action Plans. If your group has not yet signed up, we encourage you to do so.

We aim to spur climate action in communities of faith by providing a platform for offsetting carbon emissions to fund local or global projects that help address climate change, bring the spirit of Laudato si’ to life, and inspire a profound ecological conversion.
